Burning LOTS of Oil Oily Film on Trunk and Rear Bumper
Im pretty sure Im burning a lot of the oil in my engine. Its normal for an engine to burn oil, but nowhere near as much as I am. If you read my other thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1867860, youd understand part of what happened.
There is a thin oily film on my back bumper up to the spoiler on the trunk. It covers from the right rear of my car to roughly 2/3 of the way toward the left side. If I look at it from an angle I can see somewhat of a rainbow effect where the film starts/stops. Ill wash my car and itll build up by the next, or even before the next day. When I purchased this car a few months back, I had an inspection done on it. My mechanic advised me that VTEC Solenoid & Intake Cam Plug was leaking. I cleaned off the VTEC solenoid about 2 weeks ago and I dont see any leaks as of today.
Like I said before, my other thread stated that I burned nearly 3-4 quarts of oil in about 1 month. Turned out to be closer to 3 quarts. Could it be solely because of this Intake Cam Plug issue or something else?

Oil burning in your combustion chamber translate to a thick fog of white/blueish smoke out of your exhaust. Let's say, for argument's sake, that you are burning THAT much oil, your catalytic converter will clog up first before a drop of oil comes out of your exhaust tip.
So with that in mind, check your undercarriage for the trail of oil leaks. The reason your bumper is coated with oil is because the oil is leaking from somewhere in the engine bay and when you're driving, the air is throwing all of that loose oil under your car and out the back.
I know this because I once changed the oil on my parent's 4runner, and took it for a test drive when I noticed the rear window was blurry. Drove it home right away and checked the oil drain bolt. Tight as a virgin. It turned out the cheapo Fram filter my parents used the last oil change, the gasket ripped off and was still attached to the filter flange. Combined with the new filter on top of it, the oil was seeping through the two gaskets.
Check under your car and follow the oil path. It will lead you to your leak.

OK Thanks. I took pictures of the rear of my car but they all got accidentally deleted. I'll post em up later tonight or tomorrow morning for you to judge...
The oily film isn't thick at all. It's not sprayed across the rear nor does it look like drops or mist. You'll have to see it....
