How do I tell if a receiver-dryer is good?
I found a brand new-looking-still-pressurized air conditioner at the junk yard.
I read that the receiver-dryer (looks like a beer can with two solid lines coming in from opposite sides); have heard that it has moisture-absorbing granules in a plastic bag inside of it. How do I tell if it is still good?
Your thoughts, please. Thanks in advance.-Bob

If the system has been open to the atmosphere for any amount of time, replacing the receiver/dryer is recommended. Since the system will depresurize when you remove it, you may want to go with a new one.
