Well I had to give up my h22a eg hatch for personal reasons ........so I picked myself up an eg 95 dx coupe shell for CHEAP.......and I was thinking of doing a budget turbo kit on an LS motor. Well what I have read so far was that I need mani...intercooler...pipping...feed/return lines.......BOV....turbo..still don't know which one cause I don't know if i should get an internal wastegated turbo or a slightly bigger turbo and add an external wastegate. What is a good turbo to make 240-250whp?......Now this is a question about fuel/tune......iI was readin that you don't have to tune....you just bypass the MAP and add a walbro pump and FMU and your set....can this be done...how long would a motor last like that...daily driven track sometimes...highway races here and there.....or should i just speen more cash that I don't really have and buy hondatas200 and dyno tune???? I just really need opinions on people's set ups or whatever. Thanks....Angel

 

Running on an FMU "piggyback" is very dangerous. Your air/fuel mixture will not be consistent and correct. It's been proven many times over that your motor will NOT last using these things. Even the Greddy "blue box" is advised against.

I know it sucks because its expensive...but unfortunately a proper tune with a standalone is really the only "safe" way to boost. If you're investing all of this hard earned cash into your setup, wouldn't it make sense to go the extra mile to ensure that the money doesn't go down the drain?

And just when you decide to do everything correctly, and everything is working perfectly......it gets stolen.

Yea you are right......I'd rather go that extra mile so the motor last longer......any ideas on what kind of tuneing/standalone would be great for this setup?

Find a tuner and ask what they prefer to work on or recommend. Honestly in comparison it's not that expensive, I've seen Hondata s200b go for 220 shipped here in the classifieds and tuning can be as little as $150-$300 depending on how well it goes.
