from what i have heard from people in the past is all you need to do is call chp. well they don't help worth a damn. they want you to buy what ever engine install it into your car and bring it to them. if it comes up stolen your fucked. they impound the car, and then do a investigation. Even with a bill of sale it sounds like it does you no good.. So how can you check...
