Default Is this too much for the Ecsta SPTs?

A local shop said I could get the tires, them mounted and balanced, and put on the car for $530... sound decent? or too high? and this is for the Kumho Ecsta SPTs if no one remembers... (205/50R17)

The Tire Rack charges $89 each in that size. So you will pay the Tire Rack $356 for the tires, plus shipping - let's say $420 total. You will then have to get them mounted and balanced, which typically costs $10-25 per wheel/tire, for a total of $460-520. So $530 is a bit higher than getting them from the Tire Rack. I would call the Tire Rack a little cheaper, but not a lot.

Also, you didn't mention whether the $530 includes sales tax or not, so the bottom line from your local place may be $530, or may be somewhat higher.

Yup, I would recommend buying them from tirerack.com.

If you have a Wal-Mart where you live, they charge $11 per tire for mount and balance. I found it to be alot cheaper this way.

You wouldn't go to WalMart if you lived in my town haha... They cracked a buddy of mine's rim putting a tire on it and wouldn't do anything to reimburse him...

In all it might be a better option to buy locally just to save the hassle of getting them shipped and mounted. I buy all my tires from discount just because they have always treated me very well, with their price match program (they match prices of websites) and their replacement program.
