Mugen Fit Spec-D (coming to america?)

I’m pretty impressed by the elegant not too loud bodykit that Mugen has put on the Honda Fit. It looks really great in it’s orange colour too, but what really makes the Mugen Fit Spec D special compared to the other kitted up Honda Fits (Honda Jazz in our markets) out there?

Yup, it’s supercharged. Mugen has already made one pocket rocket Honda Fit previously with their Mugen Fit Dynamite powered by the same Honda K20A engine in it’s Civic Type R and Integras.
This Mugen Fit Spec D runs the same L15A SOHC 1.5 liter engine in the original Honda Fit, but it is equipped with a supercharger just like the Civic Dominator. This results in a nice 145 horsepower harnessed by a 5-speed manual gearbox on a small city car.

The gauges are also new, with the center dial being replaced with a combination of a boost gauge and a digital speedometer. I’m really not sure why one would need such a huge boost gauge. IMHO they should have put the RPM gauge in the middle and the boost gauge on the left.

This is nothing new to the Fit community nor will it make its way to America. You could always import the body kit and parts though.
Who knows? I think a lot of it will depend on how the Mugen Civic Si sedan sells.
Let's say people actually want to buy a $30k Civic (they won't), the bean counters may consider another Mugen-themed model.
On the other hand, if the Mugen Si sedan is a flop (which it might be), marketing might try to push a Mugen Fit and keep it close to $20-22k and hope it'll make more sense than a $30k Civic.

lol...a whole 145hp? Look out world, here comes the mugen beast! Seriously, who's going to pay the money they'd charge for that thing? You could go buy a GTi with about the same amount of money and wax the floor with the "Super Fit" hahaha...knowing good and well the price tag would exceed $20k here in the states based on limited production history alone.
Im guessing with a relatively small amount of torque as well, you'd be just as well to go spend less on a VW Rabbit, buy the aftermarket turbo kit for it and have a fairly fast car with over 200hp on the stock block.
But hey, it looks nice right? hahah...

Buy a GTI? Why, because you did? Keep in mind that a stock Fit is around 600 lbs. lighter than your '04 GTI. Yes, the Fit's L15 doesn't make a lot of power, but its torque curve really isn't too bad. Typically forced induction, especially supercharging, improves low-end torque as well.
Back on topic... it would be nice to see a Mugen supercharger kit to give the Jackson Racing kit some competition. I'd be really surprised if the body kit will come to the US because it's using the JDM bumpers in the pictures. Mugen would need to produce a US-only version to work with the larger US front and rear bumper supports.

that auto speedometer sounds like on the fit! I think were like the only new model that doesnt come with it! except for the suv's... but yea i dont like the color nor the tail lights but everything else look pretty good
the mugen SC makes 145hp. The Jackson racing makes 158hp, and im sure the JRSC would be cheaper. On top of that the new rotrex design JR is using with the speate oil cooler is a little better, no worrying about tapping the block for oil feed.
nice but i dont like the super charger part ... lol ... i dont think it will make it here even though the si sedan is being built ... who knows though ...hope so
The wide body kit looks jut like the kit honda used for the new Fit Extreme concept for the U.S. Fit, so that may be the only thing to come to the U.S., well maybe the side view mirrors and led tails which honda also had on the concept.

Word. Oh wait, I already have an S2k.
Agreed though that the Mugen Civic will be entirely over-priced (IMO) but I'm sure it will sell fast.
I like this Mugen Fit for the most part. I dig the instrument cluster especially.
The dual exhaust might grow on me...
And the seats look for comfy than my current Fit seats. But do they still support refresh mode??

the front and rear end dont fit on a USDM fit , you have to do alot of mods to the sub frame to get them to fit just right, def not a bolt on job
front end conversion alone for the us to jdm is $2100 through j's racing , not too many body kits fit the us model yet
that supercharger is nice though , but jacksons has one now that bumps it up to 140 hp , petty quick for a lil car like that
