I use the old style BFG's whenever I go "hunting" and I can say that it works QUITE well...

I cant wait until I get the newer style ones though.

Only question I have is, when do I have to replace them? The tread is all burned off, but I only put them on for "hunting" and they will NEVER see rain.....

How about the falken Azenis? the recent Sport compact car had comparisons against 3 tires, and this one held up very well. Plus, it would do great for autocrossing as well, if you're into that.

BFG DR, for track only
555R, for street/strip

why?!

BFG's will be on the threads in a couple 1000 miles
while the 555R's will last 3 times as long.

for street hunting, I use these really rare tires...
they're called Michelin XGT-V4's... they suck!
for the track, I use a different tire, there, I use Michelin XGT-V4's... these still suck.

BF Goodrich G-Force, they use them on the twin JUN Civic hatch backs. Very quality tires, sticky as hell.

The BFG's are a good tire... I'm opted to say the Nitto 555R's are better b/c they last longer. The Mickey Thompson's [i]could[/] be driven on the street as long as you had them properly inflated and got a smaller size that wouldn't be obvious to the 5-0.

I thought all you need is a single bead on the tire to be considered tread? I saw a Stang with MT's (I think) on it and I asked him about it and he showed me the tire and it had a single tread down the middle and it has to be something like at least 1/4 inch deep or something...

EDIT: BTW, BFG all the way! Potenza S-03's are better for autocrossing, I know I would feel bad burning those up at a stop light, them shitz are expensive!!!

Mickey Thompson does make a DOT drag tire called the ET street...basically a slick with a few dots of tread.
