maximume speed problem
my frien installed in hes 92 civic b18c3 which came with p72 ecu obd2
he install obd2 harness in his car to can use the ecu.
the car go very well but his problem is his maximume speed is 180 km/h (112 mile/h)
some ppl told him that the ecu is closed at that speed is that right ?

Fuel cut at approx 120-125mph for US D-series cars (or at least my EX).
Not sure how it changes much to the B18C3's but you'd have to assume the difference isn't much. There shouldn't be need to go much faster.
That's 112mph - sounds about right, my '94 ford probe had a fuel cut at 112.
What would I recommend?
If he's using an OBD-II harness he can use an OBD-II to OBD-I conversion harness with a chipped P28. On that chipped P28 he can run a stock P72 .bin file (and it'll act just like a P72 ECU) and simply uncheck the speed governor (or if the program doesn't allow it just set it for something ridiculous like 400).

You guys must have tiny tracks then, I consistently hit 120-130 here at Summit point and VIR with my EK/EJ. JDM ECU's all fuel cut at 120 or so. That's the law in JDM land. USDM R ECU's don't have the fuel cut and have a top speed (in the Integra Chassis) of 143 mph.
I did have a problem where my mixture was leaning out at high speeds. I ended up bumping the fuel pressure 4 PSI and that went away. It would stumble over 100 MPH when wide open throttle.
My guess is this car has a JDM ECU. One thing I noticed is my speedometer is way off at high speeds. It under-reports about 8 mph. If yours is the same then you're hitting the ECU fuel cut.

idk what everyone is talking about a fuel cut... i have a 95ex p28 ecu with a d16z6 d15b and d16a now. my speedo runs up to 130 and i have topped it out with each motor. so what was my top speedo... idk the speed stopped at 130. ya ya I'm retarded for going so fast but i was the only one in the car and a LONG EMPTY STRAIGHT road
I have a full cage, seats and harness. If I blow a tire at 130, I should walk away as long as I don't hit anything solid. 130 in a regular civic though, they'll be scraping you off the ground when you finally get stopped. At the track they have ambulances on the spot and the helicopter medivac is a phone call away.
Have fun and all but, don't kill yourself.
