Strut Tower Bars
ok, after reading the faq thread, i learned that strut tower bars are usless unless they connect to the fire wall, as strut tower bars that just go from strut to strut still allow the struts to move, but they just move together now. so now my question is, what is a good three point strut bar for the ep3 if any are available? i know that password makes some nice ones for the ek, eg, ef, and dc, but i havnt seen anything for the ep3/dc5. links or just suggestions would both be appreciated. thank you

well if you buy a mugen/mugen replica, it allows you to keep your stock strut bar. or you can wait for the Carbing one to be released but that might take a while. i'm running a Comptech titanium strut bar it connects to the firewall and strut but only connects the struts using 1 bolt on each not all 6 (3 on each side).
I wouldn't say they are useless, but I definitely would not pull off the OEM Type-S 3-point bar to put a 2-point on it.
As suggested, I left my OEM 3-point and added a Mugen bar to my Type-S.
But if you have nothing, I'd recommend one of the solid and better models. Those ebay bars are junk...get a good one like a Neuspeed, Mugen, Comptech, etc. You get what you pay for, basically.
Thanks for looking in the FAQ

btw i drive a 2003 ep3 but reading in the civic forum, i saw to come here because the chassis is very similar if not identical to the dc5 intengra/rsx. so a solid bar is better than nothing and a three point bar is best correct?
and thank you for the responses

IMO the Neuspeed bar is the best for your application (EP3).

A 3-point bar is not without its drawbacks. For cars that were not designed with a 3-point in mind, you may do more damage to your car if you are in an accident. I've seen guys with DC2's screw up the firewall in an accident that would otherwise not touch that deep into the chassis.
Also, if you autox, a 3-point bar will put you into a seriously high prep level class.
Just a few things to keep in mind.
A good 2-point bar is fine for the street and autox.
