Building all motor head
I want to raise compression in my GSR, and I have a few questions. Other than adding pistons , what else can I do. I know I can add a thinner headgasket , like the Spoon or Mugen one. I have a spare GSR head that I am wanting to build, if I had flat faced valves, would that increase compression as well ? I already have the head all cleaned up and ready to go, as well as full Omni power valve train , just not sure what valves I should get to increase compression. I tried searchin, but wasnt sure what to search for. So any help would be appreciated.
As a rough guide, flat faced valves will increase compression about .2, a 2 layer head gasket will also bump compression by about .2 and every .010" (.25mm) you plane off the head it bumps the compression by about .2
why do you wanna raise your compression, what kind of cams you gonna install? I milled my gsr head, .01" and used an oem headgasket, 2 layers only, and im happy with my bc3 cams and supertech valve train. There was a thread here not to long ago about the added weight from the flat faced valves making it not worth the bump in compression.
