Default Random solid CEL, engine studders and dies, WTF??

Friend has a 91 CRX HF w/ a obd0 B16 swap. He had a 4-1 header that hung really low so I gave him a 4-2-1 header. Right after he swapped the headers out and tried to start the car it started, but right after cranking it started to stumble and shut off and the solid CEL light came on. They eventually changed plugs and it started up and ran somewhat good. But now it does it randomally. It ran somewhat rich but I related that to the ECT sensor that was bad, but that has been replaced. I also related the random solid cel to a bad ground, but everything seems to be right. Any Ideas???

did you check the codes?

seeing how you played with the exhaust manifold this sounds like an o2 sensor problem..Does he have both plugged in and wired into the ecu correctly?

does the vtech work? if so than check the intake manifold components. it may be bad throttle positioning sensor
