99 Accord V6 problem
My girlfriend has a 99 Accord V6, it has about 95K on it. The problem is that every once in a while it has a hard time starting. It randomly does it. One day we were out driving and everything was fine, we went into a store and when we came out it took about 3 to 4 turns of the key to make it finally turn over. Then yesterday it did the same thing but this time it was a cold start. The only mod is a cold air intake.
The second problem is that when she fills up on gas the gas gauge will say full but about 5 miles down the road it goes below full. She has tried topping it off and it still does the same thing. The filler neck for the gas is missing the little silver block off plate that the gas cap covers, I dont know what could be causing this.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Does it turn over ok? like does it crank at the correct speed? does it start up for about a second than just turn off? if is does these than i would say it is doing because a security issue. i know when i had the stock alarm every once in a while i would goto start my car, it would start up than turn right off, than i would go to crank it and it wouldnt "bite" just sit there and crank.
If it is this you can remedy it by getting out of your car, lock it using keyless, than unlock using the key.
If it isnt this, than disregard this post.

No it cranks like it wants to start, but it wont. So we turn the key back to the off position and try and start it again. It usually starts after the 3rd or 4th time. This weekend we are going to go and test the battery and alternator. Thanks for the help though.
My 99 Accord EX did that too and it was the ignition switch- It had been a recall part which previous owner did have replaced and it took care of it.
They called it a failed electrical portion of ignition switch. $191.07 in Colorado
OR What they called a relay *** 91600 $114.74 in Colorado
This was under warrenty vehicle and I disputed having to pay the first one for it was a recalled part that had been fixed and went out again. So Honda ate it on that one.
Hope these help.

Thanks for the info, if the battery and alternator turn out to be good I will check into the ignition switch. Thanks again for the help.
