disconnecting the lower and upper balljoint, might give you enough clearence to remove the axles without having to pull them from the hubs. but it would be more work, just go buy a socket and loosen that axle nut. or take it to a shop so they can loosen it for you.

remove the castenut and seperate the lower ball joint, then swing the hub assembly out while prying (not pulling) the axles out the tranny, now the axles are just hanging, swing the hub back around and put the ball joint back on and tighten the castenut .

lower balljoint ,,axle nut . both are bitches so either way you're going to be cursing

can you measure your driverside axle? if it has a 90-93 integra halfshaft the driverside axle should be around ~23 inches..if its not close to that you have the sir1 halfshaft..

i get confused by this y1,ys1,j1 bullshit...so do you want the 90-93 integra setup or civic/crx sir1 setup on your car?

get this and you won't regret it...

1/2" electric impact wrench - $50.00

i got mine like a year and a half ago for about the same price and it's been shearing hub bolts off like none other.

http://www.harborfreight.com/c...45252

most motor parts stores will rent you the 32mm socket for only the price of a completely refundable deposit.
