1996 Accord Power Door Lock
Hi guys,
I am new to this forum and was hoping some of you could lend your expertise here. I recently purchased a 1996 Accord EX 4cyl. When I use the power door locks it makes a buzzing noise and either only one or both of the rear doors work, neither of the front locks. After doing some research on the net everyone seems to say the actuators are the problem.
My question is do I have to use factory parts? The price of purchasing 3 actuators, even used, seems very high. How hard is it to do myself? I am fairly inexperienced with accords.
Finally, is there an aftermarket kit I can buy that will work with my car that can give me keyless lock/unlock and comes with four actuators? Anyone have any suggestions on which one is user friendly, easy to install on this particular year accord in terms of wiring and reliable?
Thanks in advance

Those puppies are 'fixable' there is a little tab inside the actuator that tensions the spring, but it breaks off.
You can put it back in place and then put a bunch of little tiny washers behind it and epoxy them in place.
This is the fix for actuators that buzz but don't function.
