I'm considering picking up an early to mid 90s Legend. I was hoping the gurus in this forum could give some advice on known problems as well as things to look for.

How many different models and which one is on top?

Do these things really last up to 250k miles? I've seen a lot for sale with 200+ miles.

The ones I'm looking at are <130k miles.

they really do last that long provided the owner kept up on the maintanence.

they are prone to the disasterous BHG (blown head gasket) though. i have one ~163k miles on it that ive only had to replace the water pump/timing belt on. that and a new 6spd tranny.

other than that, they're pretty good cars. if you're serious about getting one, do a lot of reading on http://www.acura-legend.com

The main relay's are known common factor to go out on the Legends and RL's. Keep an eye out, not a big $$ issue though

 

Find one with maintenance records. Take your time and find the right one, be willing to look outside your immediate area. IF the car has been well maintained, mileage is not much of an issue. Head gasket failure is the most common serious issue to beware of.
