Default Steering on CRX

I do apologise if my questions have been covered previously, but it's too difficult for me to be certain if the answers I find are applicable because in the USA you guys call what we call EDs, EFs and over here in Australia, when we say EF, we are refering to JDM models like the EF8 Vtec CRX and the EF9 Civic...

Moving on...

I was just comparing the CRX Workshop Manual with the EF Supplement Manual to try and figure out if all the steering components are the same as the locally available EDs... and I found nothing about steering in the Supplement Manual, so can someone please confirm that this means My entire steering assembly is the same as ED CRXs?

Also, are there any newer Hondas that share this steering assembly?

Basically I am hoping to replace a number of things with newer components and don't want to be charged labour for a workshop to discover things are incompatible etc...

Thanks a lot guys

I beleive that the RHD models have a different steering rack, well not actually different, just configured to the other side of the vehicle. As far as I know, that is the only thing that is different.

thats a pretty important point that civictrix brings up if youre looking to swap things.

are you taling about RHD or LFD??

our "ED" chassis has two avialable steering racks. the DX/HF/STD and Si variable rack. the rack and pinion are different, so is the housing.

the EF8/9 i believe have similar steering rack ratio's, except the tie rod ends and steering arm on the knuckle are completely different. that makes for a much tighter ratio overall.

oh yeah, and no CRX or civic except the 4dr sedans got power steering in the USA.
