Default n/a b20 setup...opinions?

wassup h-t...i jus picked up an eg with a swap(obviously) and just wanted to see peoples opinions on the previous owners build..im not too knowledgeable on some of the areas so im inquiring some advice...if you could swap out some of these parts which would you swap out and why? ill start first...maybe some crower cams for a little extra hp..a gsr trans better synchros and final drive...and a standalone..instead of a chipped ecu..like hondata...and of course a good tune after that...the car was tuned with the chipped ecu at around 157ish whp (dyno sheets are in the car)and i cant remember the torque #'s off the top of my head..i think those are decent numbers..i would really like to hit 175-180 without swapping a vtec head in if possible..is that a realistic goal w/ non-vtec and not costing an arm and a leg? thanks in advance...what would YOU change?

i dont see why youd run a bigger MC w/ out upgrading(atleast) rear brakes. dont bother w/ tokico blues.. serious. look for something that will last. if your staying NA.. get a trans w/ shorter gears(b16a). and look into a ITR throttle body! this is me being nice..

I'd drop the aftermarket crank pulley too. Get a dampened ITR pulley if anything.

aych2h, hope you don't mind me putting my $0.02 into this discussion...

the crank pulley is not a problem...it's lightened and SFI approved. if you feel that there could be future troubles, go get it balanced. otherwise, get a used ITR or go with ATI or Fluidampr.

there are plenty of tranny improvements you could do. gsr w/ lsd would be great, plus upgrades to clutch & flywheel will do wonders as well. final drive...i don't think is necessary.

spock_rocker was right about the throttle body...you definitely need to go big on that. if you wanna stay on the cheap side, once again go with ITR.

one thing Rocket (founder of Rocket Motorsports) definitely suggested was bigger fuel injectors.

the cams...are somewhat tame in my opinion. this is why they're totally streetable. if you really want to see more power, i think you should look into crower 403's or 404's.

tuning would be great...the ecu is chipped so you can always go with uberdata. if you want to play around with the Rocket Motorsports chip that's already in there, you'll have to contact Rocket himself to get that modified (custom programming).

upgrade the headers...go with AN-R, DTR, Profab, Rage, RMF, SMSP, Hytech, etc. these are great manufacturers for all-motor applications. but it's definitely gonna cost ya. $500+ brand new...

finally if i remember correctly, the cam gears are essentially dialed in on zero. get some dyno time like at church's or whatever and find some extra hp there. if you really want to get some ASAP, then just remove the cat converter! it's already an illegal swap after all

if you want better ideas, you should ask this question in the all motor section or look into nonvtec.com

haha don't mention it. if i was really helpful the car would've had working foglights

btw, those WeatherTech window visors suck indeed...they don't use any mounting or adhesive to keep them on. they're "supposed" to be installed without hardware.

i lost the passenger side visor the same you did too
