Default P30 flywheel broke on my b18c1

I recently noticed a loud loose metal sound coming from my starter. I pulled the started and found i could wiggle the teeth on my stock P30 flywheel about 1/8 of and inch from block to tranny. Is this common? how do you think this flywheel broke? it was in good working order when i put it in. I have been having trouble with clutches breaking and flywheel breaking from debris from the clutch breaking. but my clutch works fine. SCARY!

So your flywheel broke but your clutch still works?? If youve been having these problems regularl, you deffinately need to figure out wtf is wrong.
on a side note; what does this have to do with allmotor?

he's talking about the starter teeth. its actually a ring. its not very common for the ring to seperate, maybe for high mileage and under abnormal stress. it shouldn't mess with your clutch. the flywheel is gonna have to come out. you can get the ring rewelded on or buy a new flywheel.

yeah this is what happened the teeth on on the flywheel seperated. I have been having trouble with clutches breaking causing the flywheel to crack and what not. This is the first time i have ever had just the flywheel fail on me. Just was wondering what would have caused this. i only drive this car on the weekends and this is for track use. I have a fidanza 7.5lb flywheel that will hopefully last and hopefully the clutch doesnt ruin this one. I am using Brand new OEM flywheel bolts and clutch bolts. I also use loctite on them and they are torqued to factory specs. I am using a Act Xtreme pressure plate and 4 puck disc. I know it is overkill but i blew up a shredded the disc on a exedy stg 1 and i broke the pressure plate on a clutchmaster fx300. I know its not that i cant drive because prior to all this i had used the OEM clutch till i added my headwork and cams and the clutch no longer could hold when i got into 4th gear. I then pulled the clutch and it showed no signs of abnormal wear except where the throw out bearing pressed the fingers and they flywheel had extreme hot spots. I replaced the flywheel with a brand new one.
