Default Helicoil Instructions

My driver's side motor mount holes 2 out of 3 are stripped. I have experience using taps which was my first idea, however, I couldn't enlarge the holes of the motor mount even with a drill press because the metal is too strong. So I figured I try the helicoils.

Now, I have the helicoil inserts but do I need an install kit to use them? How do you insert them? Btw, the original bolts were m10 x 1.25, and I have m10 x 1.5 helicoils with new bolts matching that size.

To insert them, the kit will come with a bolt, you thread the coil onto the bolt. WIth the bolt you thread the helicoil into the bad threads.

I used a NAPA helicoil kit, came with everything you need. For about 25 bucks.

the kit should come with a tap...your gonna have to tape the whole before you insert the helicoil. the helicoil is ment to strengthen the whole being that the helicoil is SS
