Default apexi vafc neo worth it

is the apexi vafc neo or the super vafc 2 worth it, iv never done anything with piggy back units and was wondering if there worth the money i found some on ebay for 200 bucks so i was wondering if there worth it, i just wanted to do some mild air/fuel tuning so i fugured it would be a good start thanks

pretty much every1 here is going to tell you they're a waste of money.

IMO good for minor tuning/ minor boost. Bad for serious modification.

For $250, you can get a chipped ecu and conversion harness that will out-preform and out-live a VAFC hack. If you're not willing to get your VAFC tuned, then it's not worth pissing on it to put out a fire.

i want to do some of my own tunnig not just put a chip in it and that be it but i dont want to spend the money on say a hondata so thats why i considerd the apexi units just for the tunability

You can get a decent basemap in CROME or Uberdata for $250, and get that tuned, and it will actually help. Changing your A/F and VTEC engagement will not.

granted they're tunable, if you have OBD2, your ECU will eventually make up for your piggybacking and you'll be back to stock. My ecu made up for it every 3 days at one point Only reason I'm not hondata/ uberdata is cuz I'm probably trading my car out in the next year so it's kind of a waste
You can just street tune hondata/ uberdata/ crome if you have a laptop in the car with you

ic ic well i only new of hondata as a type of stand alone system, but if you guys are saying that all the ecu will do is just fix its self than it is useless and i should just look into more uberdate/chrome stuff do you guys no were i can find out more on them or where i can get em

Crome is the way to go. dont really need a laptop, you can get a rom emulator, and tune from you stationary computer.
but definitly crome is the leader in Rom editors. very user friendly.

Crome is free. Crome pro is like 130$, it has real-time programing.

http://www.tunewithcrome.com/

then get your base map from
http://pgmfi.org/twiki/bin/vie...Codes

once you get your bin the way you want, get somone to burn it.
you can email me the bin, ill burn and mail it for 15$

otherwise you need to buy a burner. about 100$ from

http://www.xenocron.com/

good luck
