Default 2.2 vs. 2.0L

Hey, this was probably covered a few years back but what's the concensus on the 2.2L versus the 2.0L with 9k redline? I haven't been able to find much on the 2.0L performance. Is it outperformed by the 2.2L pretty consistently? I'm talking stock cars here. Thanks for any insight.

i never say this, but search on s2ki.com...

briefly: outperformed? it dyno's 10WHP more, and they claim their faster around the track but the scca records still show ap1's ahead, go drive them both.

It's up to the driver and how accustomed he is to his chassis and set up, if you're talkin about racing. It took me a bit to find the AP2's sweet spot, and I'm still getting used to it.

i've owned both cars and i would never own an ap1 again, i get more use out of the torqe and its more fun to drive u dont have to rev the **** out of it to get it sideways but everybody has different opinions. All my friends own ap1's and they wanna drive my car all the time cause it feels different.

the US market/culture is a sucker for displacement... its the american way, thats why all others had remained with the proven F20C

I dunno..im in love with the F20. I've driven an AP2 and....it just wasnt the same. Everyone says that 9k is over rated, but i dont think so at all. Plus, i dont have any problems with the torque band on the F20C. I dont mind revving it either..isnt that why you buy a sports car? I have no idea why people complain about the "lack of torque" on an F20. I think its more than adequate.

i personally have the 01 s with the f20c it has about 80k miles on it. i worked for hardin honda and got to drive the new f22 and i wasnt impressed the only thing i liked about them was the leather material rather than the regular leather in mine. i love my AP1

i just got my ap2 its an o4 and from what I've heard as far as drag the ap1 is faster i havnt raced mine yet but alot people tell me that. If this were the case then getting the ap2 to go t 9k would be the trick to beating an ap1 because just being able to go to 9k even if you dont make power ur still in gear longer and does let you get the advantage so its just my opinion dont eat me alive if im wrong lol

no
no
and NO

the rears ends should be stronger... but its more of a DRIVER style that will blow a rear end out.. rev it to 7k and dump the clutch.. your rear end will blow it you get any kind of traction...
no the AP1 ecu is a different map completely since its a different motor so it isnt any benefits from it...

just dont simply drop the clutch feather it out so you have some tire spin but not that your lighting it off... like burning the clutch a lil off the line.... feel me?
