Zex or other Nitrous owners. Have some inquiries
I'm looking into a Zex kit for my R, but I want it to be safe, I heard this kit was, because of the computer that keeps the NOS and a/f ration from making the car run too lean or too rich...
But on the other hand i heard that a dry kit is bad.
What do you think and if i went with a wet kit, what all would i need with either kit to make it run as safe as possible, this will only be used for rare occasions at the track.
Any help is greatly appreciated, but would rather have the opinions of someone who has used or has either kind of kit, not someone that don't know what the hell they are talking about like myself.

zex is a safe kit , but not really ball shattering power increases.
i have wet kit nos on mine and i upgraded from the dry kit , cuz the dry kit was leaning out too much . . . . dry nitrous doesnt agree with the r's from what my tuner told me . everyone i met with a dry kit on a Rhas had some kind of issues at some time .
the best is direct port of course for many reasons. second is the wet kit single fogger and then if you just want simple install and a small shot , go with the zex

i'm still thinking of zex, if i went with a nos single fogger, i would always have to pay attention to the a/f ratio, bottle pressure, things like that,
i've heard that the zex is minor tuning, and go...
any other ideas, complaints, comments?
thanks for the info.

I have an NOS Direct Port setup. Right now I have it setup to juice an 80 shot. I will be dynoing it this monday with a new clutch. It is true BTW what they say about the stock clutches wearing out... sheesh, I went through mine after spraying not even 10 times.
I'm still wondering whether I will be able to hit high 12's on slicks when i get to the track with what I have. Any ITR users who have juiced about what I have know whether I should be able to hit my mark? Do you think I should be able to hit mid 13's on street tires? Assuming i am a decent driver... thanks..
Other than that... the nitrous is fun stuff.

I was running a 70 shot when my cylinder #4 gave way. It's all fixed now, but no more NOS, no more fun.
you will hit 12's if you can drive it .
i hit 13.3 on the 70 shot and running big time rich and untuned .
also the slicks werent gripping good. . . im looking at 12's with my set up . so im very sure you can .
its all about tuning and traction.

I have a question for you guys.. I have a NX kit with all the goodies.
But I am swapping in a b-series motor which would be built with autocrossing in mind. What are the biggest cams you guys would run?
Say either b18c1 or c5 block and upgrade from single fogger to direct port.
Zex cams, Jun2's, etc... which ones?
thx
