Default DIN bracket for aftermarket cd player...

Just wondering what kind/size of bracket or whatever will I need to put an aftermarket cd player into the DIN console (1995 model)? Any advice would be cool. I'd get the oem cd deck to put in the empty slot since it's made for the console, but almost $300 for one is a little ridiculous at the moment...

just go to circuit city and tell them what car you have. they can give you the right bracket for like 20 bucks.

But I don't think the typical bracket you can get for the car would fit the DIN slot. Maybe I'm wrong? I dunno, help please!

If you are talking about where teh factory tape/cd player came, yes best buy/circuit city/etc will have the right parts on the cheap. I would say $30-$40 for the new plastic din slot bracket thing & the adapter wire harness.

yea it fits. there might be like a little pocket/compartment to make up for the extra space, but they make them work somehow

If you're talking about the JDM/USDM audio console, you'll need a single din bracket, and fill the other hole with a pocket.

Yes that's what I was talking about. Where would I find one of those? Sorry if these are dumb questions, but I don't know too much about audio stuff yet.

if your talking about the hole below the climate controls the radio's cage goes right in with no kit. if your talking about the double din opening in the audio console, just get a dash kit for double din honda such as 94-97 accord, 94-01 teg, 99-00 civic. this is the best pic i got of mine, its pretty old though. click to enlarge.

Okay, I went to Circuit City today and bought a Sony deck. But the metal piece that the deck unit slides into wouldn't fit into the metal frame/skeleton of the console. Maybe it's the cd player I got? The player is in the oem radio spot as of now, but I want it in the console. This is turning out to be really annoying. Any help would be appreciated, especially from those who actually have the console. Thanks a bunch.

Hmm alright, I'll give it a try and let you know if it worked. I tried once before, but I didn't try forcing it in.

Guhhh that looks really nice. They're right, that deck is sweet. I was lookin at it when I got mine.

HOWEVER - I ordered a dual block off plate from my Honda dealer. So I'm thinking when it comes time to put gauges in, I'll put the block off with the gauges on it in the DIN and just keep the deck in the dash. That's what I'm leaning towards right now more than anything.

There was no need to bump this old thread. You could also pop over to Amazon and search for one. Crutchfield.com even.

But let me understand. You can only use these if you have a double DIN slot already.

If you don't you're SOL of you can convert the WHOLE CONSOLE over to double DIN but it entails pretty much swapping EVRYTHING.

What year car do you have?

Then you need to find one of those audio consoles. They don't make them anymore and are SUPER hard to find. Good luck with that.
