Default 1983 Honda CM450E a good starter bike?

Planning on getting a bike soon and was looking at the CM450E. It's cheep $800, sort of small, cruiser type bike. I've ridden 250cc dirt bikes and now I want a street bike. Would this be a good starter bike?

I plan to ride it for a few years and then upgrade to a CBR600. OR should I just get the Ninja 250cc?

It's a great learner bike, and a good beater after you move on to something else. I'm not so sure I'd pay $800 for one, though...unless it was in pristine condition with less than 3000 miles.

Cool, thanks. The bike is in great shape...I think I'll low ball them on the price though. It's kind of hard to pass up cash under your nose!
