Red/black in the stock radio harness of a Honda/Acura is the illumination lead, [hot when park and head lights are on] normally fused in under dash fuse box.

The red/black is part of a "paralleled" dash illumination wiring system, if one wire of that illumination system burns the damage will be all the way along that harnesses most direct route back to the fuse that protects wire, that begs a question.
Why did the fuse that protects that wire not blow?

Also keep in mind, when a wire shorts out it also damages wires that are around it in the harness.

So to make a proper "repair" of the harness, you would have to remove the dash harness from the car, "open" the harness up, [remove convoluted tubing and electrical tape, making sure to maintain harnesses "shape"] follow the burnt red/black lead back along its path to the fuse box plug inspecting for damage to the lead, paying particular attention to the connection points of other red/black leads branching off the main lead, the connections are a weak point, at the same time inspecting for damage to surrounding leads, most will be evident, they will be stuck to the red/black, others may not, look carefully.

Once you have identified all the damaged wire you can go about replacing them, and once replaced "re-tape" the harness reinstalling the convoluted tubing in their proper place and then put it all back in the car, that begs another question,
Why would you want to?

Not sure about your area but where I am, I can get a complete dash harness, [undamaged] at the local pick your part for $25-$50, and that is a pull dash, replace harness as you remove old one, [you do not have to remember what plugs into what] reinstall dash, your done. 94

well the red/black wire is burnt all the way through to the fuse box. the dumb mistake i did was put a 25 fuse instead of a 10 and thats why i think caused this whole ordeal in the 1st place. i went to al&eds autosound and they said they were going to replace the harness and labor for $100. i dont know if thats a good deal or not.
