trunk strut / spoiler question
**EDIT: heres the part# for the trunk springs that I have (the 4DR ones):

Alright, so heres whats going on. I have an si spoiler on my 99 ex. I have the ex trunk springs currently, so the trunk does NOT "pop" when you hit the lever to open it. I have some 99-00 4DR trunk springs, but im wondering a couple things:
1) will they even fit?
2) are they the same as the si trunk springs? (will it pop as much as the si one does normally?)
Then lastly:
Ive seen that you need a trunk spring "remover", at least via the instructions on http://www.handa-accessories.com.
3) is this really necessary? or can you use a flat head or some other method without damaging anything?
Thanks

Well thats the thing. I can't reference the part #'s for the si one. The only reason I have the part # for the 4dr spoiler is b/c I got the springs from a brand new accessory kit from honda. Honda only sells it all together (springs / bolts / spoiler / wiring). You cant get seperate parts.

edit, finally found the part # for the si spoiler trunk springs and they match that of the 4DR.
The question is, do you really need the trunk spring remover? or is there another way to do it manually?
