Wow looks great! "reserve not met" I'm sure he's looking for quite a bit on that shell, since it's nearly entirely intact.

Another thing to note, that VIN he posted off the door jam appears to be a VIN from an 00'ITR, not an 01. can someone verrify this?

Carfax lists it as an 01.

No, the 10th digit indicates the model year. In this case the "1" means 2001.
2000 = Y
1998 = W
1997 = V

It does look like an easy fixer upper as long as he has a reasonable reserve. As long as the title isn't "non-repairable" someone will have a nice project

I'd pick it up for 5k .. but no more than that, specially w/ the rust on the body.

Well guys I got the low down on the car. First of all the car has a clean title! The seller is a friend of the owner and he told me that the owner didn't pay his insurance on time so when it was stolen and recovered, the ins co. didn't pay for the damages.

That being said, he said that the owner has one more payment left and he'll have the lein removed from the title by next week. His best offer so far is $7000, but he want to take more offers outside of ebay. But he will sell to the highest bidder in a few days(greedy bastard)... seems like he will be making some money on the side. But it does seem like an easy fix, mine was way worse than that.... lol

Clean title, well that changes things a bit. He could easily get $10k now maybe more, figuring used seats, wing, cluster, VC, rear quarter glass and strut bar could be had for $2-2.5k.

Rust?? WTF??

You are talking about a rebuilt one right?

I personally had a chance to buy a 98 CW with 50k miles, engine and tranny in like new condition. Flawless interior BUT car was a rebuilt. Rear quarter panel, drivers side door and fender were reaplaced. I was tempted to get it but I decided I want a PY with a clean title and in mint condition
