12 point...jeeezz!! i have a hard enuff time moving around in 4g's without cages...i might just have to settle for a simple 4 point in the future, maybe 6 point, in my crx

Its not a 12 point...Al is on crack. Its a 6 point with 2 support struts..wait..5 support struts..wow...i guess it is an 11 point. oh well..its stiff as heck and it only cost 600 for a full welded custom rollcage...

Actually I dont hit the bar at all...even when I lift my legs all the way up my shins hit the bottom of the dash, and never hit the bar. My navigator might hit the bar in a crash..but thats what the padding is for And yes...I drive it every day

is the bar legal? For 600 bucks, that must be mild steel, it must weigh a ton

The cage weighs 120 lbs. After gutting the car, and the addition of the Ls the car weighs in 10 lbs under stock of 2230. A friend of the guy who built it is a state trooper, and in his words "as long as the door bar is less than a foot from the floor, and you still have vision in your rear view, and drivers side mirrors,...any roll bar is legal". Checked with the Dept. of trans too.

I just talked to my mech. yesterday, and we decided to go with a ported & polished b16 head with ctr cams, valves, springs, and 11.1 comp. He said the type-R head would be a ton more $$ and might be hard to find (he dosent like to use used parts). The gsr head will make a little higher compression, but the b16 flows better. Besides..if I go higher than 11.1 comp, Ill have to run octane booster, or race gas the whole time...I still want it to be a daily driver, and get descent milage...thats why Im sticking with the Ls tranny also. 3k at 60mph rather than 5k with a b16 tranny. Ill have an LSD installed though.

Opinions on pistons? Aries, JG, Endyne??

i've got the 11.5:1 Roller Waves, but my motor is still progress.

as for the tranny though.. damn ditch the LS. get a B16 cable tranny and swap the 5th gear using your LS 5th gear and you'll be happier. that or get a 92-93 GSR trans like i did and then swap a 94 GSR 5th into it. sure it costs more but IMO its worth it.

nice setup though

i was thinking something similiar to this. if you want lower highway rpms, just swap out the 5th gear...

Dood, that cage looks pretty suspect...never seen anything of that sort before, I guess whatever suits your purpose but i know definetly that will not pass SCCA regulations.

Congrads on the decision for the LSVTEC! Mine is so much fun. Are you plannin gon running it at the track? I would love to know what it runs. My best it 14.0 @199.8MPH on slicks, and for street tires, 14.5 @100MPH. Both run in Arizona.

holy hell 14.0 @ 199.8? uh.... lets see... you must have had about a 7 second 60ft time, and then you blew out of the hole like an Outlaw car to hit your 199.8!

seriously though.. whats your setup. Mid 14s is what i'm planning for when i get my 4dr back on the road.
