Civic Si/US EX: Suspension Tokico shocks and springs
Hello, so i've been on here reading for a while and I decided to join the site. My car as of now is a stock Si (American Ex). The first upgrades I would like to do are suspension and cosmetic. The cosmetic part is doing the 99 front swap. What I need help with is Choosing the best set-up for the car based on how Ill be using it.
The Car is to be a Daily Driver. Driving in the city, and during the summer I will be going into forests, bush, country and the like. So, the car can't be too pretty. Im not tryna go crazy JDM but im feeling the aesthetics/look of a lot of the JDM components.
In terms of mechanics/performance. I am not gonna be racing people at stoplights and ****, or on a track. I want the car to be a little fast just for highway driving and maneuvering around crazy *** drivers. I would like the car to handle nice, and for this reason I would like to put some money (no trust funds, mommy aint givin me ****) into suspension and wheels/tires.
I drive a lot and a 900 mile trip is something I might do a few times a year. So....think driver not racer.
BTW, I have nothing against racing cars...im just not good at it.
So, I've been reading about dropping cars and coilovers are what most people suggest. I found some Tokico adjustable shocks and springs for about 380 US shipped on ebay. I'd like to drop the car a little bit, but nothing dramatic. Would you guys recommend these? Good price? I've read about the generic ebay springs making the ride bouncy etc. I would just like the car to be nimble, but i dont wanna feel everything.
Alright.
Thanks.
