I want to put a new shift **** on my 2005 honda civic..but i dont want to break the plastic piece in the center..i know i have to get that off and pull it up with the boot over the **** to take out the screws...how do u take off the plastic piece?

u wont. many of us have done it, i dont know of any1 that has broken it.... yet...

 

press in on the silver part and pull down...after thats disconnected twist off the old shift ****

 

can this be applied to an automatic 2001 ex?
