Default JDM swap with auto tranny?

I'm new to all this. Is there even such a thing? All I've ever seen is a JDM 5 speed. Is there even a way to get an automatic?

I would like to stress that I'm new to this whole thing.

Usually when you order a longblock it'll have come off of an automatic. I was sent my B16 longlock with a torque converter dealy thing.

Anyways, automatic jdm trannys aren't exactly plentiful, but they're friggen cheap when you find them. Regardless, i don't think they're any different from regular usdm D/B auto trannys.

Do you mind if i ask why you don't want a 5 cog?

Eh, don't laugh, but I can't drive a stick. I really don't much care to learn either. I know, it's silly, but it's me.

Thats cool.

But i do have to stick in the arguement that probably EVERYONE else has already given you, that it's not hard to learn, there's way more aftermarket support, and a 5 speed will have better gear ratios . But do whatever you like i guess

Like i said, you should probably be able to get an auto b/d series tranny dirt cheap.

DO THE AUTO SWAP!! ive wanted to do this to my daily for ever now!! but then it wont be my daily. 8200rpm in an automatic would be sooo fun!! everyone thinks im crazy but dude thats just fun imo. i heard a rumor that the tranny is a little too big and you have clearance problems but i dunno could be wrong. do it and start a thread about it.

8200? Do to B series torque converters actually turn faster than 5750 rpm?
