Default coolant smell when car is started

When I start my car I can smell coolant and the coolant level has went down some. Do you think this could be the headgasket (less than a year ago I put in a new radiator, hoses and thermostat)

Thanks for any info (and I did search)

the best way to fix something like that is to buy a EG shell and a K20 and mate them into one big monster.
