I wanna keep the full interior, the ps and ac is already removed. Any other suggestions?

If it's NOT a daily driver bumper supports might be a good option.

Other than that, if you wanna keep full interior, there's not much else.

You can start taking body panels off...fenders and such.

Though I got a ticket for driving my friend's M3 w/ no bumpers, I also got a ticket for driving that same friend's hatch with no hatch, doors, or windows.

So I don't know what the law(s) are in your area regarding what panels need to be on your car and such. So I wouldn't recommend it.

There's not much else you can do w/o touching the interior. You can go with CF hoods, panels, they make lightweight window replacements, you can start going that option, but that costs $$.

Ah, lighter rims, good point.

Gut the dash? He said he wanted to keep the full interior, I assume that means the dash too, same with the heater for all what, 10, 15lbs of it?

Another thing I thought of which might not be much lighter but should be a slight improvement is lightweight pulleys and a lightweight flywheel. They lower your rotational mass quite a bit and it helps .

also, street or track car, it will be wise to leave your bumper supports alone.

 

lightweight battery will shed a few pounds.

 

sound deadening material underneath the carpet can add up to a good bit of weight kind of an annoying ride though but it's something that will shave off some weight

 

Go to the gym and stop eating fried foods. That is the best way to lighten a Civic. Someone on here gutted all the sound deadening in their 95 DX, and they only lost like 50lbs. That's nothing for all the work they put in.

i think 50 lbs is quite a bit.

.05 seconds in the quarter mile, depending on the driver and the motor. Weight reduction is a layered benefit, and is, IMO, all or nothing. People that gut their daily driver and strip out all the sound deadening, but still keep their power steering and ac, and their "racing" seats and full dash ... it's lame.

You either have a comfortable daily that hauls ***** .... or you have a gutted trailer queen that hauls more *****.

 

i gutted my civic 96 4dr, and it was the dumbest thing ever, I wish i could tazer you fotr wanting to gut a car.

I have spent over $800 at junk yards getting my **** back. **** rattles, its loud and looks gay!

Now i want to sell my car, but nope, no can do!.

If your gonna do any weight reduction, PLEASE dont gut your car, just buy carbon fiber ****, or light weight aftermarket stuff, keep your bumper supports for suspension, and A/C for the bitches

i did this. Buy blocks of dry ice and lay in on the sound deadening material. It will start to crack and pop and get a scraper and start scraping. I would guestimate i lost a good 30-40 lbs.
