screen in s2
i'm in progress of buying an ap1 right now, but it seems that you cant put a flip out screen deck in the s2 cause the screen will hit the bottom of the dash.can you put a 1 din flip out head unit in there?i'm not sure but doesnt the 05+ radio stick out more n mayb you could do a 05 conversion to accomodate a flip out?or mayb theres a kit for it or some thing .idk help me out
Someone has fit a certain brand/model screen in there but then couldn't shift. He would hit the screen anytime he shifted into 1, 3, 5. Besides that one case, I haven't seen any others even bother. Also, when the screen comes out, it will hit the dash, so the screen is angled down. Its not worth trying.

It's only the most coveted item for a DD S. Too bad it doesn't fit.

I put this in my car about a year and a half ago and am very happy with it. The screen folds out and has 4 different angle settings so you can see it perfectly.
It not only plays DVD movies but it can also play DVD music discs too. It can play both DVD5 (5GB) and DVD9 (9GB) so you can have your entire music collection on 1 disc and never have to swap discs. The only thing that pisses me off is when playing DVD music it always starts from the beginning of the current track when u turn it on or switch sources. I think I paid like 350 from http://www.onlinecarstereo.com

At first I bought the unit for the DVD movie playback but I literally have only used it for movies a handful of times. The DVD MP3 player is where it shines. You just scroll through your albums and find what you want and hit play and your good to go. The annoying part is the screen only displays like the first 10 characters or so of an album name so you have to kinda remember what album is what if you have multiple albums by a single artist. You can hook up external screens to it if u want which will fix this problem.
As for steering controls: Pretty much any head unit that accepts an IR remote can be hooked up to use the controls. My buddy had it in his s2k and they just drill a little hole in the radio door and put in the transmitter aimed at the HU IR location.

the OEM audio controls i think was a waste for the tranmitter to use with a aftermarket headunit.... i only used it like 3 times... and i just use teh headunit dials, its just right there anyways...
