The Resurrection of a 2000 EBP EM1!!
So on October 21, 2006 I purchased a 2000 Civic Si From a junkyard in Houston, Tx. After a few months of work I've decided to start my build thread on the car. This will be a LONG build so please subscribe to this thread if you are interested in following its progress. Now on to the pictures...
I heard about this importer shop down in Houston from my brother. Apparently he went down there and fell in love with some JDM Type-Rs they had. Knowing the car I've always wanted, but never owned, was an EM1, he came across a shell there the
guy was willing to let go for cheap. So we loaded up our Sky blue trailer and went to go pick her up...

The car was a disaster. Tons of random cut wires, body had dings all the way around it, and it was missing a nice chunk out of the interior. Not to mention the car had been sitting with the windows down and no trunk lid for nearly 2 years.
I decided to first start on the inside and work my way out. The plan is for this car to be my daily driver while I build an EK hatch for a turbo LS/VTEC. With that in mind I wanted to keep the interior nearly completely stock. Thanks to Majestic Honda (http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/) for all the great deals they've given me on all the parts I've ordered. I've attempted to keep all parts for this vehicle OEM. You should see the amount of baggies from Honda I have sitting in my room. Actually you should see the invoices...
It took about a month before I could get back out to the house to work on the car and by then quite a few parts had come in. Here are some pics from Thanksgiving 06...
Exterior shot:

Rear with a Black lid I picked up:

Driver side ding:

Front shot:

Rear Panels/Seats Passenger side:

Dash with SiR Cluster:

SiR Cluster:

New Carpet fit nicely:

Armrest was actually in pretty decent shape for sitting in open weather for 2 years. Sorry for the crappy pic:

I wish I had a before shot of this, it was solid white from dirt and weather. This is a shot after the window was installed and the door was cleaned:

Random junk I'm storing in the trunk as I put it back together:

Inner q-panel after working on one of the dints:

Just a random shot of the other side:

Also throughout this process I decided to remove the alarm that was thrown in. This was a major pain in the *** as whoever installed it previously did a crap job. For those of you thinking of installing an alarm please refer to SuspendedHatch's thread:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1794938. Here are some pics of the process:

Also the back seat was completely trashed due to weather and whatnot. Mad props to my brother and dad for helping me get it back into semi-decent shape. Here is the best they could do in repairing it:

I decided it was time to begin on the engine as the interior was starting to take shape. Keep in mind these pics are simply the building process and in no way represent the finished product. Once everything is in I still have to take it all back out and prep the car for paint/body work. The objective is to get everything in place, have the car running, then take it all back apart for the body work. Like I said, I've only had the car for a few months so it will take some time. I want to give props to Tony at JHPUSA (http://www.jhpusa.com) for the great service and fast shipping. Here are some shots from the arrival of the engine:
Delivery:

Nice packaging:

My brother opening it up:

A random shot of an LS/VTEC that was abused by its previous owner. We traded a crotch rocket for this thing, it's going in my brothers teg once he cleans it up:

Some more opening shots:

My bro holding up the P73, what an idiot:

WTF GET OFF MY ****:

What a sad sight:

EK9 Smoked Headlights, somehow I deleted the picture of them out of the boxes:

REPRESENT!:

Front end set on (excuse all the junk in the driveway, we were hauling off old **** we had in the garage so we had set it all outside):

Ugly engine bay (once again keep in mind that the motor and whatnot will all be pulled back out so we really were not focused on cleaning for this stab):

205/50/15 Kumho Ecsta SPT (For factory Si Rims):

My bro working on swapping the JDM engine harness for the Si harness:

...:

Old Harness:

Motor ready for initial stab:

Parts removed/replaced on the motor:

Plans to tuck passenger side harness through here into fender well:

Trying to find a nice spot for the front:

Fender side hole for wiring:

Making it a tad bigger with a 60mm hole saw:

Checking the fuse box fitment:

Finished product:

Stabbing:

My brother left and a friend right:

Skunk2 Exhaust and T1R Test pipe:

Motor stabbed:

Test pipe:

Most recent parts received:

Yesterday we put the fog lights in and the headlights. A shitty winter storm stopped us short of finishing the job so I have yet to take some good pics. I also need to get some clean shots of the interior now that it is 90% completed.
All comments are welcomed whether good or bad. I could care less if you think the car is a pile of **** because as of right now I couldn't agree with you more. I work 12-14 hour days 6 days a week so my ability to work on the car is limited by time. My hopes are to have it done by July and head up to Tennessee for the meet. Updates will come to this thread as I make them. Thanks for all the support!

My buddy bought an ek9 front clip from there and the motor is crap. Not to mention all the problems he had with the engine initially installing it.
