Default Why so bad gas mileage?

Its a 00 civic ex, and im getting 200 miles to the tank. I filled up yesterday at just above 1/4 tank, at 147 miles, and put in 7.5 gallons, and that averages to be 19 mpg. Why so low? I dont drive in VTAAAAK all day.

No CEL's, and all I have done to the car performance wise is added a custom exhuast. I've had the car about 3 months, and its just been getting worse and worse. Also I'm using the 87 octane gas. I dont want to use the more expensive stuff, if its just going to suck it down.

you dont need to use the more expensive stuff on your stock motor anyway and like ATEJ8FTW said, tune ups will deifnetly help. Fuel filter, plugs, wires etc...
