i want to buy a set of riax brand rims. they say its made by motegi but have you guys heard of it? anyone have any experience of riax rims?

I have not. But people always talk about how lame knockoff rims are and what not. Really there is no difference. They look the same, perform the same, spin the same lol. Only thing different might be the weight and a few other small things. So if you see what you like then go ahead and buy it because why spend another 1000 to get the real ones? Its not like there gunna roll any different lol they are not more round then the others. Just my .02

Never heard of them, but searched the Motegi site, and yes, you're right (sort of); Motegi and Riax are both brands under the American Racing company. Ro_Ja is also another brand under this company, as well as a few other brands i've never heard of before. If i could put my two cents, i'd argue the opposite of what was just said. Do some research and make sure you buy a good looking wheel that's also well-made; whether knock-off or brand name, some wheels are just built better and worth the extra $$ compared to having to repair cheap dented wheels. I learned the hard way. Hope that helps.

 

i know what you mean man thats why i want a good whell. my freind had a pair of rev ultra light rims and he and dents in them after hiting pot holes and got to fix them numerous times.

 

I have knockoff 5zigens. Wheels are perfect. No problems at all and have hit some nice size potholes that where unavoidable, and they held strong. So idk. I dont see spending another 1000 for the exact same thing except there the real manufactures.
