how would you protect your car from getting stoeln
so..im about 1 week away from moving out of my mom house. im use to garaging my car and not needing to worry about my car gettin stolen. but now..im going to move in with my bro and he has no garage. not really sure about the crime rate there and honestly can care less. i can be parked at a police station and i'd still clutch lock my car.
what do you guys use to prevent your car from getting stolen or even broken into???
i know window visor are not purposely suppose to work as a security system, but it kinda prevent the theives from breaking threw by the window...right? i no they can just break it off, but what do you guys think?

Depends on what part of T-town you are in. I went to HS in Tacoma.
-I am going to invest in an alarm as soon as i can get around to saving for one.
-I have wheel locks
-I make sure I stay in good shape so when I hear the factory alarm I can chase down the piece of sh*t trying to rip me off...

1.Use common sense-don't leave anything out in the open that could be a temptation for someone. (Just yesterday while walking through the mall parking lot on the way to grab some eats I saw 7 cars with very exspensive video monitors open and exsposed!!!-if i was a thief..you think i would care?)
2. get a security system
3. park in high traffic areas.
I think you get the idea.

My suggestion: First get some dark window tint. Nothing illegal. Just something to make it harder for the would-be thief to see into your car.
Second get a really good 2-way pager alarm system so that way even if you can't hear your alarm too good the pager will let you know when it's going off. I recommend VIPER's 2 way cause you can actually adjust the sensitivity from the pager remote.
Third if you have some money left over i would consider investing in a GPS tracking system from VIPER as well. If somehow your car does manage to get stolen you can actually track it online. Not only that but when they stop and turn off the car you can actually click a button and disable the entire vehicle and the car won't start again until you enable it to. Pretty good investment if you ask me.
Good luck man. Hope it works out for you.

Get a DEI alarm installed and sleep in your car at night as well (preferably the back seats). Have a weapon ready close to you. Works perfect without any worries.

Good idea...but after attending a seminar with reformed smash and grab/jackers etc...Tinted windows were like neon signs to them...it meant you were hiding something in your car....so you may want to rethink that theory.
Also not all of DEI 2 ways or alarm systems allow you to adjust sensitivity by remote.

there are plenty of things to do...many of them are explained here:
http://causeforalarm.thecarthing.com/index.html
-multiple kill switches
-a good 2-way alarm with backup battery and backup siren
-clutch lock (which you already have)
-detachable face plate for your stereo etc will help from getting broken into
-gps tracking (i.e. lojack)
-tinted windows can help (like stated before)
-rerouting hood cable can help
theres more...but thats all i can think of right now...good luck keeping your car safe
and remember all of these are DETERRENTS not a guaranteed safe car....they just help slow the thief down and/or hopefully make them give up.

I suppose some robbers might see it that way...then again some might not. Regardless a tinted window will at least prevent glass shards all over your interior if they do bust your window.
And the VIPER 5000 is a 2-way pager alarm system that allows you to adjust sensitivity from the remote.

Go get a disney go phone and hard wire and hide it in your car, they have GPS tracking and for only 26 bucks a month.
Window visors won't prevent anything.
In Tacoma and the surrounding area I'll give you this advice... make sure you have insurance coverage for theft.
