it will stretch the tire quite a bit... that size tire is recommended for a 17x7 wheel or 7.5... 8 inch wide wheel is more for like a 245/45r17 on a mustang or camaro

A 245/45R17 tire will rub on your car, you will be fine running an 8.0" wide rim at least with the Kumho Ecsta SPT. It lists an acceptable rim width from 7.0"-8.0", so the tire may be a bit stretched but nothing out of the ordinary, if anything it will make the sidewall feel a bit stiffer.

Jon is correct. These statements refer to the 205/40-17 size which you originally asked about, which is the proper 17" size tire for your car.

For someone in Arizona? Get the SPT.

The AST is an all-season tire (a crappy all-season tire, too). All-seasons are for people who have to use the same tire on snow and in extreme cold as the rest of the year. You don't need 'em in Arizona. (I know it can snow in Tucson, but it's extremely rare.) The SPT will give you MUCH better performance than any all-season tire.

use the kumho spt as nsxtasy had stated it is a better dry handling tire and decent in the rain....
