I've had this car in storage for about 8 years. I bought it for $50 from a guy I went to school with who went back to Brazil. The head was redone just before he sold it to me, apparently by a hack - the engine lost compression in cyl 1 not long after. This is a carbeureted (twin side-draft) 1.8L. Interior is in good condition. I'd hate to see it go to the boneyard; it was a pretty fun car. Any takers? Located in Somerset county NJ.

Why the hell is that car carbureted!? They started Fuel injected SI in 85' I do believe, so its kinda unusual for it to be...

 

Just because they started fuel injection doesn't mean it was standard

All- shipping too much hassle. Should have said 'local pickup only". Obviously, car does not run, so tow-away necessary. Also, the car come w/o a title - it's gone missing somewhere in my last 5 moves... in Jersey, a new title requires some paperwork (I have the whole packet from DMV), about $100 in fees, and ~ 2weeks waiting time. If I had the room to do it myself, I would. Why is it worth it? A) How many of these still on the road? B) new timing belt, head, tires, brakes within 200 miles of storage C) it's free. That said, if you are still interested and are serious about getting it back on the road (read: not for parts), it's yours.

 

where in nj do you live? i live in fort lee, and i would HAPPILY come and pick it up if its for free....

Thanks to all who showed some interest. The car was towed away this morning by a father who will be rebuilding it with his 17yo son. Nice.
