Default H22 is alive

Had a successful shakedown last sunday at willow springs (big track). Tried out evolution industries H-to-B adapter. For those of you interested in this product ... GREAT CONCEPT! Really brought the motor to life and it does drive like b series ... yet with the 2.2 liter torque ... shout out to evolution industries ... keep it up. Look forward to more track time with this set up.

didn't get any times ... lame
had a great time with friends though ... Hung from Baker Precision did a great job on the alignment. the car was moving ... the driver did an awesome job and was very consistent, yet he isn't a seasoned Honda Challenge driver. Will be interesting to see what the car can do with more track time. It was the first time out with this set up ... so over all one of the best track experiences the car has had. Was going to put a K in the car, but I really think I'm going to hold off for now. H motors are available for low price and want to concentrate on suspension tuning.

side note ... offer still stands for "seat time". some time ago I offered to rent car out
potential racers concider the opportunity and the field of seasoned drivers out there. concentrate on driving ... not building a car. learn from my "pain"

It mates a b series transaxle to an h engine.

OEM b axles, linkage, mounts!

AFAIK all it REQUIRES is a specially made header, and there are some things you may want.

Was that test driver none other than the mighty Andy Hope who I see lurking in the shadows? He did mention something about going to WS this weekend for some reason.

Car looks good
You should bring that thing to California Speedway on January 26-27-28th.
For the first round of Honda Cup
We don't mind the one piece front, I t would be a good chance for Andy Hope to get in some seat time...

I wanted Andy to test the car out ... yet didn't have enough time at this event. Always appreciate his input and was great seeing him out on the track.

wondering when 'nonsense' would chime in .... np. This maybe a different solution to the K series. Don't know yet ... would have to go heads up I guess?

It has always been controversial. I guess that if you already own the right transmission and LSD, and you're just in love with the hydro shifters, then maybe it's worth it to you.

There's certainly a lot more available in the way of axle ratios, gear ratios, and little fine tuning parts like that controversial Spoon (heavy) shift rod.

That's true. There are a ton of options when looking at b-series transmissions, that I suppose aren't available for the H22 box. I guess my thinking was that an H22 is a compromise to spending more on a good b-series, but that's not always the case. I'm a cheap bastid so budget is usually my first thought.

H22 is, in no way, shape, or form a compromise to a b-series.

I thought there was a rule about using the tranny that came with the engine for HC? Maybe that was just for H2-5?
