Default Del sol guys i have a speaker question.

Im buying 6 1/2 polk MMC 650 speakers for the rear of my del sol and crutchfield says on their car fitment lookup thing on their website that it does'nt fit, but im pretty positive thay will. i know for sure that the 6 1/2 inch diameter does fit but im wondering if crutchfield says it wont fit due to mounting depth which is 2 7/16. does anyone have these speakers in their del sol or speakers with the same mounting depth so i know that thay for sure will fit before i perchace them?

Any help is appreciated, thanks

According to Scosche, the rear depth is 2 1/2". So, the Polks should fit. If for some reason they don't, you could always space them out a bit with some 1/8" ABS or some thin plywood.

Ditto the above
But if you need a spacer, [depth reducer] use MDF instead. 94

Since the speakers are 2 7/16" deep, I suggested the thin stuff so he could potentially put the stock grilles back on, although I'm not exactly sure how they attach or how much room he's got...

Thought maybe MDF would be too thick?? :shrugs:
