Default 1st time with TIG......suggestions please

Got the welder hooked up and apparently my dad only knows how to do MIG and stick so I had some metal laying around to practice on, these are a best ones as I am still getting used to keeping my hand steady and whatnot:

Welder: Lincoln Precision TIG 275
Tungsten: 1/16" sharpened tip
Filler: 308L
Gas: Argon @15 cfh
Amps: 80max with petal
Metal: 2" dia 304L 16 guage, unprepped (no SS wire wheel yet)

I just butted them together and tacked it to start, I didnt bevel them or anything.
I am dissapointed with the grey welds, contamination?

the weld on the right i realized after that my tungsten was all messed up which is why it looks like crap compared to the other 2 on the left.

I have no plate or anything to do a filet weld, I need to go get some scap metal

what amp's would be good? i was using the foot petal, and anything less made a real thin bead

edit: brought it down to 50amp max and it made some pretty good beads

I will be picking up a SS wheel tomorrow

turned the amps down to 50 and didnt use any filler and the welds are looking better. what dia. filler do you guys use for 16ga stainless? (if any) all my dad has at the moment is 1/16" or 3/32" 308L, I think it may be too thick for tubing.

a good key to power taught by a teacher of mine was for ever 1mm, you use 30amps. So a 3mm thick part would need 90amps.

i use 1/16 filler rod if i use any filler, if fitment is good ill usauly just hammer tack them down and fuse them together, however if you cant get the tubes to fit up good ill use the filler i would go much bigger then the 1/16 becuase as you add the filler it cools the puddle down.
