Default In the works...

Ok guys, heres a question.A good friend is doing the following to his Toda B16 in his 00 Si.What kinda of potential do YOU think this set up will be capable of.Here it is.....Grs block bored to 84.5,11.1 Arias pistons, new sleeves,Eagle rods, all the bearings and neccesary parts,(fully built block)Ported and polished b16 head,Dual valve springs(car now has ITR valvetrain and Spec A's)stainless valves,ITR intake manifold,JDM DC header, carsound cat,AEM Intake,Greddy EVO catback, chipped p28 ecu, vafc, and a few other goodies. His other question is should he dump the Spec A's and go with a more aggressive cam like the Spec B's,or JUN 3's.Power is the main goal, but the car will be daily driven. His B16 with syock ecu and A's made 158/108,and hasnt really ever been tuned.Thjis should be a LARGE step up from the current setup in the car.Since you guys are the NA honda gurus online,we thought you may be able to give some advice/constructive critisim on the build.Any info is greatly appreaciated.Thanks.

if you want to use spec As, raise the CR up to 11.5
if you want to goto a bigger cam, raise it up to 12
i would also recommend using stock ITR valves and springs with Spec A cams.

He has the ITR valvetrain and Ti retainers, so he should be o.k.. So do you think for a daily driven car he should go to 12.1 compression? The block is being built right now so he has the opportunity to change it.. He also has the chance to get a rebuilt gsr tranny for just swapping out the b16 tranny. What gears would you prefer?? Thanks again.

Then tell him to get off his *** and get the car to a dyno for tuning.

Tuning is everything
