Default Online or Shops?

So did you guys buy most of your parts online? (e-bay, websites, other forum users)

or you go to shops?

Any bad experiences?

I've yet to buy anything online, except for a Comptech Tie Bar, which I'm still waiting for, so hopefully good news will come from that

Depending on your location. I know there is people here around the world and not everyone has local shops around them. Online you usually get better service and probably a slightly cheaper price. I can help you the best I can. Just pm me and let me know what you need.

for me. ive bought everything online thus far. its just easier to find parts online. local tries to screw me up with taxes and high price tags. whereas online is usually around average. so just search around online for good prices.

I've bought most of my stuff online. There is just more selection and better prices doing it this way. The only bad experience I've had online was when I ordered a front strut bar and came with scratches and chips.....but it was from the UPS guy dropping it and whatnot.

Only thing I've bought from the store were tires.....which I found out about from the honda-tech marketplace area......which is online.....

Everything online.

For most of the time, buying online is cheaper than local pick up.
Only reason local shops have to charge alot more, because they have to pay rents.

I try to support local shops (and not for car parts only, either). But sometimes you can find them only online.

i say half and half ... i would suggest taking a look at online prices then going around to shops and telling them the best price you found ... i did that and the shops dropped their prices to within 15 dollars of the online price and gave me the parts up front ...

good luck with your online order ... they take a while to come in ...

Shops. you actually get to talk to people who have used most of the parts you're thinking of buying. and if you get to be friends with the people at the shop you might get deals on alot of stuff.

here is what ive learned after spending a lot of money and buying from a bunch of different places online.

Buy from a reputable shop. a bigger shop generally might charge slightly more, but they almost always have better service, which keeps their customers continually going back to them. smaller shops are sometimes shady because they dont have this huge backround and they might dodge your phone calls and such. the big companies understand its cheaper to keep a customer than to gain a new one.

I buy online because I don't trust or care for any local shops for the most part. I will buy from 1 shop that's local, but I do it online & they ship it to me
