Default Will my 2000 gsr take a 96 JDM gsr block?

hello, my 2000 gsr is in need of a block, and i was wondering if my USDM 2000 gsr will be compatible with the 1996 JDM gsr block. will i be able to "slap" it in and be able to drive it. any emmission concerns? thankyou in advance. please school me!

Swapping block for block, you won't have problems.
