Default Type r tranny or GSR ?

k well i got a b16a swaped in my 98 EK and my syncros in my tranny are done lol and i need to get new tranny prety soon , im going turbo when summer gets here just got a couple more things to buy.

my question is is there any big difference from a GSR lsd tranny and a Type r tranny i want short gears and i know the type r one is the one i need but its price is kind of alot lol do you really see the difference in the longer gears on the gsr ?

Thanx

they both are good... type r with lsd would be worth paying $400 extra.. but you get no warranty on jdm trasmissions. you can buy a gsr transmisson from a usdm car and if its bad you can get your money back or at least kick someones ***..

If you plan to turbo later on, a GSR tranny is more appropriate.

I'm a bit lost. If you want short gears why not just get a B16 w/ LSD?

Civic SI tranny, the S4C (99-00) has the same ratios as the Type-R tranny and it's cheaper. Slap an R or Quaife LSD and you HAVE a Type-R tranny. Might just want to get someone to change the synchro's, buy an LSD and call it a day.

if you gonna go turbo, i think longer gears would be be better...you should see if you can come across a B16 or GSR tranny with LS 4th and 5th for the nice long spool

There's more to an ITR transmission than an LSD

Yeah, like what?

Haha I see, you're selling an R tranny! I agree, the R tranny's are special (especially expensive).

If you're going to boost very soon, GSR.

If you're spooling you should stick with just an LS tranny. Type R and B16 tranny are for NA application. LS tranny are much cheaper vs a type r or S4c (B16).

I don't get why you'd want a longer legged tranny ever. The R tranny is still tall enough to go 150 Mph or or so at redline. This coming summer, I'm going to be tracking a boosted B16 with S4C tranny and Quaife LSD. Why's that a bad idea exactly?

Are you saying that some GSR trannys come stock with LSD? I know all the ITR tannys do.

Yes he is,

And if it were up to me, I would go GSR simply because of price and still great gearing.
