just like the title says i was wondering whether to get ctr cams for my turbo set up or simply keep the stock b16 cams and upgrade my retainers and springs? I've heard mixed answers on this subjecty and i was wondering what you guys thought?
I'll Help my fellow Boricuas!
Don't use ctr pistons for you turbo... they are more for all motor cause they are High compression Pistons.
You should go with;
JE Pistons, Low compression is good for turbo
If you can get some GSR or ITR cams they work very well with the turbo too
but the stock b16 should work okay
Retainers and springs would be great but the stock can hold up depending on your setup. If you are going to get retainers and springs... Might as well get a nice port and polish while you have the head removed.
Get some ARP Headstuds to hold that motor together while you boost

if you happen to know i'd really appreciate it. thanks.

i dont know where you got he is using CTR pistons from though, they are some nice pistons to boost on with a good tune. Now for the torque specs, follow the same as factory, pick up a helms manual.

yea i know i should follow factory but does anyone know what those are? i was hoping you guys could enlighten me.
CTR Pistons are mentioned in the title... and you must be doing 16's with a boosted motor with CTR pistons.... That's the craziest thing I ever heard.
Man people with comments like that makes Honda techs credibility terrible
No No No..... The torque Specs are Higher for turbo setup.
I believe when torquing down your head to the block it needs to be 80 foot pounds
I just put together almost the same setup you are speaking of and tourqed it to 80 ft lbs.
Stock is torqued to 68 Ft Lbs.
make sure you get a Hondata and Tune it so you can experience the power you pay for!
