support the front end so your radiator doesn't get crushed. any pics of your eg? I'm wondering how shitty it is to consider making it into a demo derby car?

Haha nice motor cage ??? If that's what it's called, but you'll deffinitely need something similar if it's allowed in the derby.

the body is great, no dents in the rear quarters, just no one wanting to buy, have the front end, just needs interior and motor, and paint, but if no one wants im going to total the **** out of it

My buddy races pre-runners and fabricates too. I would suggest a full cage from the rear bumper to the front bumper. Gut out the support foam and have part of the cage ran right behind it. definitely protect the radiator and the engine bay. Maybe drive in reverse for a few hits to keep you in the game longer?

Whatever you do you need to cage that engine, or the first hit's gonna crumple that civic like a beer can.

I have been to lots of derby's and the compacts are always the most exciting and Civic's do seem to do well. If I didn't have such a bad back I would have already entered - GL if you actually do it

Most Compact's can't have much/any mods. You will probably need to weld the doors shut & then chain them as a backup precaution, remove all glass & that's about it. If you can mount the rad on the roof or somewhere away from the front & rear bumpers it would be a good idea....

You make it sound like eg civics are a rare car or something?
Fact is they aren't if no ones buying it then he might as well make use out of it.

Another thing to ensure is that the battery is safely secured, best in car but make sure it is bolted down extremly securely.

If you didn't live across the country and I had some money I'd probably pick it up .

You could probably sell it..

I'm surprised you haven't gotten hate-mail yet along the lines of "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE THROWING AWAY A PERFECTLY GOOD HONDA SHELL!"

Why are people trippin' about intentionally wrecking a hatch? I love my hatch, and Honda's in general even though I may be getting too old for this ish, but it is just a Civic. It's a disposable car, it's not like it's a Porsche or anything. It's not worth much in that condition anyhow. I totally support the white trash olympics (demo derby) w/ this car. Like I said, if my back wasn't so bad I'd have already built & wrecked one. A nice JY Civic + JY turbo in the demo derby would be fun as hell.

You kidding me?

Some of these ricer dicks get REALLY bent outta shape if you're going to destroy a hatch. Look at any of the V8 in civic threads, you'll see a bunch of cumstains talkin like "OMG, YOU COMPLETELY KILLED THAT HATCH" or "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU THREW AWAY A PERFECTLY GOOD CIVIC LIKE THAT"

Seriously, go look, it's fucked up on major levels...these ricer dicks that thing Honda is god and it should be every millionaire's dream to own a few ******* suck.

ok first and foremost, i would definately sell it if someone could give me 350, but if not ill take the two bills he will pay me to wreck the beast, not til march so got time, would put my boosted sohc in there, but then it would just get damaged, so a dx will be just fine, but honestly would sell it, just sick of it taking up space, i got a boat and hatch in the garage, four runner in the driveway and that eye sore, besides the parents dont like all my cars taking up there space....ha
