rebuild it to be stronger, quicker, and more reliable

if the price of the rebuild is equal to the cost of the motor if you have time do the rebuild if not buy a motor. if you luck you might find a B18c5 for around the same price as a rebuild. believe me i am in the sam situation and it sucks but all you have to do is take the time and do some research till you find whats A) within you price B) does what you need and finaly C) reliable.

But rebuilding the b18c1 is going to make it stronger and able to make more power.
Rebuild the one you have. It's worth it.

Depends on what you mean by build? If you mean, new rods, pistons, bearings, rings, head gasket, etc....then a motor w/ 160k will be "like new." If you mean put a turbo on it or put bolt-ons, then its questionable.
Hello, its a Honda. Do a compression check. If the rings and valves seal properly and it hasn't been beat to death with zero maintenance, you can add some go-fast parts and not worry to much. Read up on some all-motor posts and see what parts work together for the maximum benefit.
Remember if you get more aggressive cams to go ahead and replace the valve springs to match them. There is no reason to replace the stock rods, but you could upgrade the pistons with slightly higher compression units, like some ITR spec. Might as well replace the rod bearings while your there. And dyno tune. Just throwing some ideas at you.
